Terms of Service

Last updated: April 30, 2026
Effective date: April 30, 2026

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. THESE TERMS CONTAIN A BINDING ARBITRATION AGREEMENT AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER (SECTION 17). BY USING THE SERVICE, YOU AGREE TO THESE TERMS.

1. About These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Truvee LLC ("Truvee," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of truvee.net and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, sending a Truvee, completing a verification, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Who We Are

Truvee LLC
210 Executive Drive, Suite 300
Cranberry Township, PA 16066
sales@truvee.net

3. What the Service Does

Truvee provides identity verification services. A Truvee sender requests verification of a recipient's identity. The recipient completes biometric verification through Stripe Identity. Both parties receive a tamper-evident sealed PDF documenting the verification result.

The Service is NOT:

  • A consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA")
  • A background check service
  • A credit reporting service
  • A legal service or law firm
  • A guarantor of the recipient's character, intent, or future conduct

3A. Limitations of the Verification Service

Truvee provides identity verification services using live face matching and government-issued document analysis. The Service reduces but does not eliminate fraud risk. Truvee is a verification tool, not a guarantee of identity, character, intent, or trustworthiness. You acknowledge and agree:

  1. The Service may produce false positives or false negatives despite the use of industry-standard biometric verification technology.
  2. Truvee is not responsible for any decisions, transactions, or outcomes resulting from your use of the verification result.
  3. You retain full responsibility for your final decisions, including but not limited to whether to enter into transactions, employment relationships, or other agreements with verified parties.
  4. Truvee is not a consumer credit report and is not subject to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The verification result should not be used as the sole basis for any adverse decision.
  5. You agree to comply with all applicable laws when using the Service, including those governing privacy, data protection, employment, and identity verification.
  6. Truvee's liability for any claim relating to use of the Service is limited to the fees paid for the specific verification at issue.

4. Eligibility

To use the Service you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Have legal capacity to enter into a binding contract
  • Not be barred from using the Service under applicable law
  • Not be located in a jurisdiction where the Service is prohibited or where Stripe Identity does not operate

You may not use the Service on behalf of a person under 18.

5. Accounts

A. Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You must verify your email address before sending verifications.

B. Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at sales@truvee.net if you suspect unauthorized access.

C. Account Suspension or Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or applicable law, or if we detect fraud, abuse, or activity that threatens the integrity of the Service.

6. Pricing and Payment

A. Price

  • Truvee Verification: $6.99 per verification (1 credit)

Prices are in US dollars and exclude applicable taxes. We may change prices at any time. Existing credits already purchased or issued are honored at the price paid.

B. Credits

Credits are non-transferable, non-refundable except as required by law or as described in our Refund Policy, and have no cash value. Credits remain valid for 12 months from the date of issuance, after which they may be expired without further notice. Truvee will send a reminder email at least 14 days before any credit expires. Credits may be issued by Truvee through promotional codes, administrative grants, or the credit conversion model described in 6E, and are subject to the same terms.

C. Payment Processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. By providing payment information, you authorize Stripe and Truvee to charge the applicable fee.

D. Sender Recall (Pre-Open)

If you recall a verification after the invitation has been sent but before the recipient has opened the link, the credit used to send the verification is returned to your account balance. Once a recipient opens the verification link, credits used for that verification are not returned to your balance except in our discretion or per the credit conversion model described in 6E.

E. Credit Conversion Model (Post-Send)

If a verification is sent to a recipient and the recipient does not complete live face verification within 7 days, the sender's payment for that verification converts to a Truvee credit on the sender's account, valued at the price paid ($6.99 per verification). Credits issued through this conversion are subject to the same terms as all other Truvee credits.

Refund eligibility window. Real refunds to the original payment method are available only within 24 hours of purchase and only if the invitation has not yet been sent to the recipient. After the invitation is sent, no cash refund is issued and any subsequent failure to complete results in a Truvee credit per the conversion model above.

Credit expiration. Truvee credits issued through conversion, promotion, or administrative grant remain valid for 12 months from the date of issuance, after which they may be expired without further notice. Truvee will send a reminder email at least 14 days before expiration.

Credit non-transferability. Credits are tied to the issuing Truvee account and may not be sold, gifted, transferred, assigned, or otherwise moved to another account or person. Credits have no cash value and are not redeemable for currency outside the Truvee Service.

Service failure exception. If a verification fails to complete due to a technical failure on Truvee's side (not a recipient abandonment, recipient ID rejection, or recipient timeout), the sender may request a real refund to the original payment method within 30 days by writing to sales@truvee.net.

7. Sender Obligations

When you send a Truvee, you represent and warrant that:

  • The recipient's email address is accurate and you have a legitimate basis to request their identity verification

TRUVEE IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR THE LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Truvee LLC, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claim, demand, loss, or damage (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or third-party right
  • Your use of verification results for prohibited purposes (including any FCRA-regulated purpose)

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Subject to Section 17, any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

B. Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE TO RESOLVE DISPUTES ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS ONLY. YOU WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIONS, CLASS ARBITRATIONS, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTIONS.

C. Exceptions

Either party may bring claims in small claims court if eligible. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court to protect intellectual property rights.

D. Opt-Out

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing sales@truvee.net with the subject line "ARBITRATION OPT-OUT" and including your name, account email, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date and, where required, communicated by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

19. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by emailing sales@truvee.net or using the data deletion request form at truvee.net/data-deletion.

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, fraud, abuse, or any other reason in our reasonable discretion.
