Verify the person on the other end. Know what comes next.
Send a request with a clear purpose. The recipient reviews it before deciding whether to verify. A completed check creates a digital Truvee Record of the identity result. Timing varies, and the result is not a guarantee that a transaction is safe.
They scan a government ID
The recipient gets a private link from Truvee on your behalf, by email or a link you share. No app to download, no account to create. They see who is asking and why, and can take their time before starting. They open the link on their phone and scan a valid government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID).
They take a live selfie
Live face verification runs the biometric match against the ID, in real time. A plain-English consent screen explains exactly what is being captured before anything is recorded. US recipients are asked for the last 4 digits of their Social Security Number.
You both see the Truvee Record
When verification completes, a digital Truvee Record shows the identity result, the time and the scope of the check. You see it in your dashboard; a PDF copy is optional. Email notifications are attempted but not guaranteed. It tells you who is on the other end, not whether a deal is safe.
The recipient is asked for the following before live face verification begins:
- · A valid, current government-issued photo ID (passport, driver's license, or national ID). Must not be expired.
- · A smartphone with a working camera
- · The last 4 digits of their Social Security Number (US verifications only)
- · Timing varies by device and ID
- · An electronic signature acknowledging the sealed proof (auto-generated from their verified name, or drawn with finger or mouse)
Truvee uses live face verification matched against the recipient's government ID. They provide the last 4 digits of their SSN (US only) for verification. None of this data is stored by Truvee — IDs and biometric data are processed by industry-standard verification infrastructure and discarded.
Truvee is a verification tool, not a guarantee. Like all verification systems, it can be defeated by sophisticated fraud. Use Truvee as one part of your due diligence, not as your only safeguard.
